Project Type:
Apartments
Location:
Jerusalem, Israel

In Jerusalem, the rich culture, history, and spiritual significance of the place are palpable.  This can be seen and felt in the warmth and light of the landscape, textures found in its markets and in the architecture of an ancient city which juxtaposes brilliantly with the modern. These contrasts of old and new, will be designed within the home and offer an environment for the family to celebrate their connection and devotion to the culture and their faith. Several apartments on the uppermost floors and roof area of an existing building will be combined to create an 8,600 SF pied-à-terre. A new central stair will connect the spaces spanning two full floors and lead to the roof deck with a pool, gym and outdoor kitchen/dining and lounge area set against a backdrop of city views. Clean lines and stone lined archways will mix with inspired details from the old city, along with smooth and textured stones in a warm neutral palette of bleached oak and soft plasters.
