New York, NY
The West Village Penthouse, featured in Galerie Magazine, is a 3,800 SF, 2-bed, 3.5-bath bachelor’s residence with a wrap-around terrace designed in a monochromatic color scheme to reflect the sleek, highly tailored environment the client desired and executed to GRADE’s exacting standards of quality. In addition to a new, open plan kitchen and sleek, modern baths, architectural features and existing limestone and wood floors were refinished to create a cool, cohesive feeling throughout. Artful elements and furnishings lend graphic qualities to each space with a mix of GRADE custom, vintage and contemporary pieces by modern-day masters Eric Schmitt, Pierre Yovanovitch and Mathieu Lehanneur. GRADE’s vision and aesthetic translated the client’s preference for black, white and grey tones into rich materials, fabrics and finishes with luxurious wall treatments in Loro Piana cashmere, suede and Venetian plaster alongside cerused oak and bleached ash, infusing texture and warmth throughout. A curated art collection completes the vision, adding measured splashes of color in works by George Condo, Pat Steir, Glenn Ligon, Richard Prince and Pierre Soulages—bringing this home to life.
