GRADE spearheaded the design of the living area of this luxe Upper East Side private residence, doing away with walls and allowing for a flow of natural light to open up the space while still preserving several of the client’s beloved objects, including a wooden table newly repurposed into a custom wine rack. Completed in March 2012, the objective was to create a space that was warm and inviting – comfortable enough for the children to play and watch TV in during the daytime, but sleek enough so that the parents could entertain guests at night.

Notable accents evoke a solid, sturdy yet sophisticated atmosphere – among these; wrap-around walls, a rounded glass dining table, custom cerused oak paneling and a white lacquered and rose-gold mirrored back bar, an exquisite leather ottoman, and a unique lighting scheme that transitions from day to night.  (Sq ft: 541)
